Dennis & Mary Johnson - IMB Mexico City
Project: property for a new church
Dennis and Mary Johnson both grew up as missionary kids in Argentina, a country in South America.  After they grew up and got married, they both began to think that God wanted them to go back to South America to help tell the people there about Jesus.  They served God very happily there for many years through the International Mission Board (IMB) of the SBC.

Then, God put a new place in the Johnson’s hearts.  Dennis started thinking about the largest city in the world - Mexico City.  With millions and millions of people, Dennis began to think about how badly they need missionaries to help the people start churches and to tell people about Jesus.  And Dennis and Mary were already very good at speaking Spanish - they learned it in Argentina when they were kids, and had been speaking it all their lives.  So they prayed about It and decided that God definitely wanted them to go to Mexico City.

The IMB arranged for the Johnsons to transfer to Mexico City.  And they love the work that God lets them do among the people there.

The Preteen Camp mission offering in 2002 helped buy a piece of property in the hilly suburbs of Mexico City where a church could be built to help the lost people of world’s largest city come to know Jesus.
