Preteen Camp at Pineywoods is a ministry of Tryon-Evergreen Baptist Association and Neches River Baptist Association. This ministry is coordinated by a group of volunteers from the churches of these two associations along with the valuable participation of volunteers from other interested churches.  All together we are simply called “The Preteen Camp Team.” About half of us serve on the ministerial staffs of churches, and about half are laymen.

The Preteen Camp Team believes that we serve God by serving the preteens and the churches that bring them to our camps. So, we work and pray year-round to prepare an exciting and fresh camp experience for the preteens of the churches of our two associations as well as an ever-expanding circle of churches far beyond.

We know that God brings a lot of preteens to camp every year who have never met Jesus as their own personal Savior. And many of them have had very little involvement in church. So we make sure that when you bring those precious little ones to camp, they will be in a loving environment and the gospel will be shared with them on a level they can understand and respond to.

We also know that preteens who have given their lives to Jesus still have to deal with peer pressure and temptation. So we provide a quality program of Bible studies and quiet times designed to help preteens grow stronger in their faith and in Christian character.

Oh yes, we also know that preteens need to have fun. And we believe that it is an important part of our service to make sure that they do!

Who are we? We are just a team of brothers and sisters in Christ who love God and consider it a privilege to get to help you minister to your preteens. Though we may not have met you yet, we have prayed for you many times. And we look forward to seeing you at camp!
